Program Description
The Feline Behavior Science and Technology (FBST) program is an intensive, fully distance-based, approximately 1000-hour, one-year curriculum designed for serious feline professionals seeking advanced fluency in the natural science of behavior as applied to cats.
This program is intended for cat trainers, animal behavior technologists, behaviorists, and related professionals who wish to develop a systematic, scientifically grounded approach to behavior change that extends well beyond prevailing industry standards.
The FBST curriculum progresses sequentially from foundational theory to advanced applied work. Students begin with the principles of behavior and functional relations, then advance through structured training technology, functional behavioral assessment, and contingency engineering strategies. The program culminates in species-specific feline coursework and applied case design.

A behavior change project is required, in which students design and implement a structured intervention to resolve a problem behavior (first conditioning a benign target behavior to demonstrate procedural fluency before constructing and implementing a contingency engineering plan to resolve the "problem" behavior).
The program emphasizes diagnostic precision, contingency analysis, and technical coherence rather than technique accumulation. Graduates complete the program with:

Advanced Graduate Track
Students seeking expanded theoretical integration may enroll in the Advanced Graduate Track. This extension deepens conceptual analysis and incorporates higher-level theoretical exploration across both human and companion animal behavior.
This add-on module is approximately equivalent to five to six full courses in depth and scope and is noted on the graduate’s diploma.

Advanced Graduate Track
The Advanced Graduate Track takes coverage of behaviorology to the next level. It's content includes humans as well as other animals and utilizes the discipline's most advanced textbook that is used in masters and doctoral programs. Many of the topics are review from the main program but they take each into more depth and into more or the theoretical aspects.
