ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

Each program page will elaborate the entrance requirements for the program in question. The programs provided through CASI are intended to be and classified as “personal interest” (fitness and nutriton department) or for “professional development” (behavior department) depending on the program in question. The programs are not designed to be vocational.

All programs require the student to be at least 18 years of age and to have a high school diploma or equivalent, ideally in English. This is to ensure that the student can communicate effectively in English at the appropriate level. If you do not have a high school diploma or an equivalent, but are sure you are capable of studying and communicating effectively in English, please just let us know when you enroll.

As mentioned, some programs are intended to be for professional development, and as such, require that the student have professional experience, be it paid or volunteer, in an animal-related or behavior-related field, for which they are seeking to upgrade and expand their professional skills and knowledge. Professional membership or certification in a professional association or certifying body also satisfies the entrance requirement. Having completed a preparatory program of study in an animal-related or behavior-related field also satisfies the entrance requirement. This stipulation does not require you have a specific number of hours or have achieved an advanced level of practice, just that you have professional experience or have taken a vocational program of study in it already or have a certification or professional membership in a professional association or certifying body. Even minimal participation in an animal-related or behavior-related job satisfies the entrance requirement be that paid or not.
