Program Description
The Diploma of Parrot Behavior is an in-depth exploration of the training and behavior management of parrots that will help prepare you for working professionally with parrot guardians to prevent and solve behavior problems. The student will learn the fundamental principles of learning and behavior, become proficient at doing functional assessments of behavior problems, develop and implement behavior change programs, and gain an introduction to the free range parrot behavior.
Students can expect to do a lot of studying and writing in this program, exploring the various topics in depth, and work with parrots and parrot guardians. The program is strongly geared toward a behavior analytic approach to understanding, predicting and changing behavior with most positive, least intrusive methods. The graduate will be awarded a Diploma of Parrot Behavior and allowed the letters Dip.PB. after their name. Graduation from this program of study represents a major achievement and credential.
This program requires approximately 350 work-hours.

A PRACTICUM and/or SUPERVISION program module can be added to this diploma program upon graduation. These programs are not required for the diploma but completion of either or both modules results in awarding of a new diploma reflecting the practicum or supervision program. Click here for details.
Tuition is in Canadian funds (Currency Converter), + 4% fee for for online payments. Textbooks not included in tuition.
