Course Description:

This in-depth course examines the safe use of herbs. It includes information regarding drug and vitamin interactions with herbs as well as the interactions between herbs themselves. Using Herbs Safely includes simple recipes, material on body systems, and how to choose the correct herbs to use. This course is challenging and is evaluated by way of written and hands-on assignments.

Students should emerge from this course with the ability to analyze and discuss the following topic areas:

  • What is included in each body system
  • Which herbs are used for which body systems
  • How to create and use simple recipes
  • Why certain herbs interact with certain drugs or vitamins
