Course Description:

This course will examine some of the definitions needed to start understanding the field of herbalism. This information will prepare the student for more in-depth studies in the field of herbalism and will prepare the student for follow-up courses. This course is evaluated by way of written assignments and drawings.

Students should emerge from this course with the ability to analyze and discuss the following topic areas:

  • Definitions commonly used in herbalism and botany
  • Annuals, biennials and perennials specific to your area
  • Different types of leaves commonly found on herbs
