Course Title: Training and Behavior Modification in the Shelter and Rescue Environment - 232

Credits: 3 (Approx. 42 work-hours)

Instructor: Molly Stone, CDBC; Dip.A.B; CC-SF/SPCA

Course Description

The uniqueness of the shelter or rescue environment creates significant challenges in training and changing problem behaviors. This course will explore these challenges and how to meet them. The goal is to assess a dog’s needs and implement a plan that will help resolve problem behaviors, and/or prevent common ones to make the dog more readily adoptable and help ensure a greater probability of retention after adoption. This course will explore these topics in detail. Some of your assignments for this course will require you to present your papers for the class to review before you hand in the final drafts.

IAABC Approved course with 18 CEUs.
