224 - Working with Challenging Clients

Course Title: Working with Challenging Clients - 224

Credits: 2 (Approx. 28 work-hours)

Instructor: Nicole Wilde, B.A., CPDT

Course Description

TAs a professional you are not only training dogs, but are training their owners as well. In fact, what dog trainers really do is to train people to train dogs. There’s no way around it: no matter how superb your dog training skills, the success of your business is partly contingent on how well you work with people.

While many clients are cooperative and pleasant to work with, others are more of a challenge. There are types like Know-It-All Ned, Unmotivated Mo, Angry Agnes, and Rambling Rose, among others. This course examines specific types of challenging clients you will likely encounter, and techniques that can be used to work effectively with them and keep your training on track. You will find that the information in this course makes working with challenging clients you encounter much easier, even outside of your dog training career.
