Course Title: Organizing and Instructing Group Classes - 222

Course Description:
Organizing and Instructing Group Classes 222 is a 4-month course that explores how to design, organize, run and instruct group dog training classes. Students will be called on to develop a business plan for and design group classes. Logistics and business practices will be addressed in detail, as will instruction approaches. Students should emerge from this course with able to analyze and discuss these topic areas.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completing this course, the student will be able to:
- Create and implement if applicable a group class business plan
- Define classroom management skills
- Organize group class material
- Identify personality patterns to increase teaching efficacy
- Evaluate human non verbal behaviors to enhance communication
- Define how to use games to increase student compliance
- Evaluate and increase student motivation
- Help students identify realistic goals
- Define how to actively listen
- Define how to deal with difficult students

Course Evaluation:
This course will be evaluated by short essay assignments that will reflect and demonstrate competency in analyzing and discussing the course topics. The final grade will be the mean average of the assignment grades.
