Course Description

This course provides basic information in business planning and operation from marketing to hiring. If you plan to run your own business in dog training or behavior consulting whether it is a hall for group classes or one on one home visit consultations this course will help you develop the knowledge you will need to make it work. Students can expect to do a lot of studying and writing in this course as well as researching business ideas on their own. We have tried to make this course such that anyone in the world can take it; we tried to avoid making it so that only those in North America would be able to do the assignments. Note that if you are already running a business you may be familiar with much of the material in this course. It is meant for those considering running their own business.

Students should emerge from this course with a foundationalunderstanding of:

  • Marketing for dog behavior businesses
