Course Description

This basic course outlines the basic care of companion dogs. Specific topics include:

  • Health care and first aid
  • Development, behavior and training
  • Nutrition
  • Fitness
  • Equipment
  • Basic Training
  • Selecting a dog
  • Care for elberly dogs

Note that this course may describe medical conditions and first aid techniques it in no way replaced veterinary care or trains the student in proving any medical care either for their own dog or for those of clients.

This course will help you prepare for you Certified Pet Dog Trainer exam and for healthcare, nutrition and husbandry requirements for certification through the International Association of Dog Behavior Consultants. The course is very basic, unlike our other courses. It is meant for certification requirements in basic dog care or for those wishing to get their feet wet in the basics of caring for dogs. It addresses several areas broadly.

This course is evaluated by way of a final exam.
